Over 100 high school students from across the country got their first taste of what it’s like to work in the creative arts at The Art Institute of California – Orange County 2008 Summer Studio Workshop. Students created posters, produced public service announcements and a promotional video, designed tee shirts on organic cotton, built store displays made of recycled materials and more to increase awareness of the Surfrider Foundation’s project BLUE initiative.

Project BLUE is a collective effort between iconic surf brands to raise funds for the Surfrider Foundation. The Surfrider Foundation is a nonprofit grassroots organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s oceans, waves and beaches.

design center at a time when new home sales have crashed, the furniture
industry has been bleeding and consumer confidence is fragile, founder
Kevin Kenney said that the time has come to St. Louis to claim its
place on the market.

For years, interior designers have
flocked to the Merchandise Mart in Chicago and similar centers in Los
Angeles, Dallas and Atlanta in search of their most demanding customers
homes.

“For designers, this is a godsend,” said Roesslein,
after Kenney its market through the property earlier this month during
a large part of opening for more than 1000 house builders, architects
and designers

“Customers get frustrated functioning
throughout the city” during a major renovation or when creating a new
home
, “said Barbara Slavkin, president of June Roesslein Interiors.

Almost two years, Kenney has purchased the two buildings of the former
Sunshine Plaza Drapery on the Service Road in Maryland Heights. A year
ago, he moved his 50,000-square-foot furniture exhibition, KDR showroom
to anchor its vision of one-stop luxury shopping mall owners.

Emily Garrett joins Trivers as an Architectural Designer I. Garrett is a 2008 graduate of Washington University in St. Louis with a Master of Architecture degree. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. At Washington University, she worked extensively in the Design Studio as a Teaching Assistant.

Krista Lombardi also joins Trivers as an Architectural Designer I. Lombardi is a 2008 graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, with a Master of Architecture degree. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Boston College. At Washington University, she worked as a teaching assistant for both the Design Studio and Architectural History department.
